You don’t always need sight to know what time it is. The ingenious Bradley Collection designed by Eone Time showed that beautifully through a stylish and versatile design. The elegant watches from that range use a clever feature to allow the user to tell the time: magnetic ball bearings coupled with raised markers. The recently launched Dot Watch takes another approach by integrating the classic Braille system and smart technology in its design. This innovative timepiece was created by Dot, a South Korean company that aims to give visually impaired people more freedom in their daily lives.

Backed by three years of development, the watch is not only smart, but it’s also the first of its kind. It features four dynamic Braille cells powered by a patented Dot Rotor; they can not only show the time, but also display texts. Elegant and modern, the timepiece comes with a concave face that absorbs shocks, a lightweight anodized aluminum case and a leather strap. Dot connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth and even supports Open API. The company aims to deliver its pre-ordered 140,000 watches starting from March 2017.
