Photography books usually have a cover that represents the content in one image. But the Concrete Photobook By Gábor Kasza provides a deeper connection between the exterior and the interior. The cover’s design mirrors the content in a creative way. Kasza’s poetic photography series features a visual symphony of concrete structures which become the backdrop for an opera-like relationship story. Minimal and powerful, the images combine geometric patterns as well as contrasts between light and darkness with an emotive subject.

Named ‘Concrete passages about closeness and coldness… and a couple of songs’, the limited-edition book comes with a concrete slipcase. Apart from referencing the content, it also protects the pages from impact or water damage. Imprinted on the spine, the title maintains the minimalist aesthetic. Inside, red paper pages are used in a ratio that corresponds to the red appearing in some of the photographs.

An Indiegogo campaign aims to gather enough support to fund the long run offset print version of the book. Backers can pre-order the photobook with or without the concrete slipcase, with a medium size print of any one of the photographs from the book also provided as a backer package.
