Introducing NOMOS Glashütte Watches

German boutique watchmaker NOMOS Glashütte has an impressive reputation. 27-years-old, the brand has a collection of twelve timepiece models and 100 watch versions that have received around 140 design awards. So far. Made in-house by hand in the tradition of the Deutscher Werkbund – which has a conceptual link to the Bauhaus and Ulm schools of design – the company’s products combine premium quality and a timeless aesthetic. “All the designs are seasoned with a fine pinch of Berlin; the cosmopolitan, polyglot, art-loving, and sometimes slightly crazy side of this town,” the brand explains. Thus, the timepieces have plenty of personality to complement their minimalist good looks.

In 2017, the company expands its collection with two new models. Both boast a fresh, modern aesthetic as well as classic charm. The mechanical Campus displays a playful design detail. On its face, Roman and Arabic numerals appear alongside indexes. There are three Campus versions to choose from, but all feature a blue superluminova coating for best visibility in low-light conditions and soft, velour leather straps.

Sporty but elegant, the Aqua range includes two models and 16 total versions. It comes in vibrant red and blue colors or timeless black and navy. The Aqua watches blend traditional craftsmanship and high-tech features, which include a new automatic movement as well as water resistance of up to 20 atm, or 656 feet. In true NOMOS Glashütte fashion, the timepieces are meant to last a lifetime and also look good in the process. Images courtesy of NOMOS Glashütte.
