Helsinki-based designer Tatu Laakso created the Kvan Furniture Collection for modern and compact living spaces. Homes where every piece of furniture should be as practical as possible, but without sacrificing style. As a result, the two-piece collection impresses with its good looks as well as with its multifunctionality. Both designs use minimal space while also adapting to the users’ needs.
Perfect for a bedroom or a living room, the Kvan Side Table comes with a removable table board which can be used separately as a support for portable devices. Or for a cup of coffee and a snack. The top features two wooden sections which cover a hidden storage area, while the textile fabric underneath provides generous space for magazines. Convenient and multifunctional, the Kvan Clothes Storage combines a clothes rack and a removable laundry bag. The design provides a 2-in-1 solution to keep a bedroom tidy. The rack ensures that clothes don’t pile on chairs or (gasp!) on the floor, while the bag offers an easy way to take the laundry to the washing machine.
Boasting pastel colors, natural fabrics and wooden surfaces, the collection adds a touch of modern style to interiors. The Kvan Furniture Series is not the designer’s first foray into furniture design. He also created the Zen-like Cloudy Chair which encourages the user to relax or enter a meditative state.
