The Forager bike was designed around the searching for, discovering, and gathering of food. It is the hybrid brain child of Sven Cycles Darrow Coppin, renowned food writer Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, and his Executive Group Chef, Gill Miller, who collectively set out to compose a bicycle design perfect for diving deep into the wilderness and coming out with a basket brimming with mushrooms, roots, berries and leaves – all ready to be thrown into a dish prepared among the trees.

The inspiration for The Forager Bike was part love of all things natural and delicious, and part classic adventure car British Series 1 Land Rover. It’s an odd pair that with just the right amount of design know-how manifests in a bicycle that is not only road tested, it’s damn attractive, too.

Every curve and powder-coated steel tube is meticulously considered, right down to the asymmetric wheels and massive front cargo rack – the perfect place for a bushel of chanterelles of even a case of fine wine.

The bike’s burly frame and wheel base is meant to provide the rider with a smooth trip even when weighed down with a days worth of edible cargo. Furthermore – for the adventurous types among us – there’s additional capacity at the rear wheel in case the trip calls for a portable grill or small cooler. Although its design screams ‘different,’ The Forager Bike is a cargo rig through and through, and faithfully operates as such.
In a modern twist, The Forager Bike also comes with a high-tech lighting system featuring a dynamo in the hub that not only powers a beast of a halogen headlight, but provides mobile power for a phone or camera battery.

The Forager Bike is at the top of the mountain when it comes to outdoor exploration and agricultural gathering. You might not be able to tie down an entire crop of corn on the cob, but you’ll be able to bring plenty home for the family to enjoy the fruits of your labor and the abundance of Mother Nature.
