Unbutton Bedside Tables Inspired by Pin-up Photography

The Unbutton Collection by Cristina Bulat draws inspiration from pin-up culture. The prototypes include bedside tables and a sideboard in white, blue, and green colorways. In each design, the top shelf peeks open like a shirt, referencing the collared blouses often seen in vintage pin-up photography. The playful shape is crafted from linden veneer, the same finish used on the bright  trapezoid frame and glossy round drawer knobs. Otherwise made ...

Standing Metal Hi Hangers

Created by Mathery Studio of Italy and Lab de Stu designer Dale Hardiman of Australia, the Hi Hangers set comes in “H” and “I” shapes. The wavy, whimsical designs bring clothing out of the chest of drawers and into the open, where it can be arranged and admired. The metal hangers support a good amount of weight and learn against the wall for stability. A bright addition to the bedroom, ...

Functional Concrete Home Decor

These cool objects are part of the first collection of solid concrete designs by Frenchmen Bertrand Jayr and Lyon Béton. The Pipeline vase seemingly flows into the architecture of the home. It mounts to the wall and holds a single stem within the accompanying test tube insert. The strength of the concrete contrasts with the delicacy of the flowers, creating a display that’s as contradictory as any urban nature found ...

Woven Willow Fiber Tree Sculpture

The “Cherry Tree House” is a bright outdoor design by UK sculptor Tom Hare. Woven from willow fiber, the basket nests in the branches of a tree and, lit from inside the frame, illuminates the surrounding natural figures. The sculpture was made for the client’s private backyard, where it serves as surreal outdoor decor. Photography by Daniel Castledine

Concrete Light Fixtures by Stefan Gant

Bavarian designer Stefan Gant creates distinctly unique light fixtures from rough concrete. Coming in various shapes and sizes—ranging from cubic to bell-shaped—these pendent lamps are made complete by what is possibly an even more surprising feature than their material: A splash of gold. The interior of each lamp is plated in gold which contrasts with the stark neutral exterior while ensuring the fixtures produce a pleasant warm glow. Any of ...

Hand-Stamped Hemp Pillows by Alburno

New from Alburno by Nicolo’ Bottarelli, Primari is a collection of pillows printed with scenes from ancient life. The throw pillows are made of hemp fabric, which was manufactured by the artisan workshop Bertozzi. Alburno then stamped the fabric with original illustrations by Ilaria Faccioli. Playfully depicting scenes of early people in nature, the stamps tell a story and give the design a homemade feel. The stamps themselves were handcrafted ...
